Description

Anatomy of Origin Factory Jeans

From the foothills of Maine’s western mountains, we are building durable goods to outfit America. Weaving, cutting and crafting products just like we’ve been doing for over 200 years.

AMERICAN COTTON. Those two words helped free a nation and built a country. The power of our American supply chain has been silent for too long. Cotton being exported to foreign countries, made into garments and then sold back to US.

It’s time we put our hands back in the dirt, and build the hard earned calluses like our grandparents. The Factory Jeans is the pinnacle of our quest to rediscover our heritage. Honoring the techniques of old, while engineering and innovating a more durable product.

SIZING - Origin Factory Jeans are True Fit out of the box and based on standard American sizing. If you normally wear a size 36 waist, buy a size 36 waist. We've taken the liberty to wash and dry your jeans once to provide this True Fit.

If you want more clarity on what a Legit Fit is, it is a Classic Cut, mixed with a Boot Cut, modified with a Reverse Yoke and crafted with Heirloom Quality.

    Factory denim jeans

Posted by Mike Hudgins on Nov 13th 2019

I was a little concerned about ordering online from out of the country (I’m Canadian) but really wanted to support the work these folks are doing so gave it a go. These jeans are the best fit and most robust (material is heavier than I expected) that I have purchased, no ‘skinny legs, low waists. Good job!

    Legit

Legit fit and seem to be durable. There a little stiff but after a few months they should be solid. Get after it!

    Origin Denim

These are literally the BEST jeans I have ever worn. Perfect fit, true to size and stretch/flex in all the right places. I’m never buying any other denim.

    Solid Jeans. Good fit.

Posted by Alex Czartoryski on Oct 8th 2019

Fit as expected. Rugged but still flexible enough to move. Triple stitching at the seams (although I've never had jeans fail at the seams). Remains to be seen if the knees and crotch last, but so far a good solid product. Impressed at the price point for a made in USA item.

Jeans are comfortable and sturdy. I have always worn a 32-32. Origin jeans seem to run big.

    Day 1: Amazing!

Posted by Zak on Oct 5th 2019

Day 1 of wearing these jeans and I am very impressed. Being on active duty, I do a lot of running and heavy power lifting, leading to bigger thighs than most. Most jeans, even "athletic fit" Levis that I tried recently, feel like skinny jeans with my thighs. Not Origin jeans though! The fit in the legs is perfect. Not super baggy, not tight, with enough room to crouch, squat, and move.

The material is super comfortable too. I may sleep in them tonight because they are so comfortable! They look nice too. When I came downstairs and my wife saw them for the first time, she thought I had gotten all dressed up to go to our son's soccer game. Then she realized I was just wearing jeans and was very impressed.

In regards to sizing, I ignored the sizing chart and got a 36x32 like I always get with other jeans. The chart recommends getting pants that are 2-4 inches shorter than your normal inseam. I did not, and now my heel steps on the cuff when I don't have shoes or boots on. Follow the sizing chart!

Definitely a quality, American-made product that is well worth the money. Nicely done!

    Solid

I found this product via a random Jocko post and am glad to have waited for them to be made.
When you first unfold these guys, you know right off you are dealing with a different breed of jeans. I've owned and worn these for several months now and these are, by far, my favorite jeans. So, let's get started..

From the top: the fit is comfortable with the reverse yoke and the fabric has enough stretch not to bind in the waist/hip area when you sit/crouch. Although the jeans sit a little different at the top of the hips (look slightly higher) if the jeans are worn with a fully tucked shirt (no blousing) but more prevalent if no shirt (think Tom Cruise playing bogus sand volleyball in Top Gun - so don't be Tom). The construction is excellent with bound edges everywhere - even the belt loops have this (other companies use an interlock stitch here on the backside; think zig zag RR tracks looking). The number of belt loops is just right so your belt stays where it supposed to stay. The area around the zipper is stout and keeps it shape (no wrinkled mess of over-cooked bacon looking flap between you and the zipper). The zipper is a big, locking YKK #5 - a full size larger than most jeans out there. The 5th pocket is a real pocket at 5 1/2 inches deep, so you can actually have your EDC knife with you up front. The full denim pockets can carry pockets full of gravel or roofing nails, but you probably shouldn't. The in and out seams are triple stitched and the bottoms of these seams are bar tacked.
They fit and look great with the fabric having just the right amount of stretch. The outseams where the front pockets are stitched are a little stiff, but soften up over time.
It would not be an honest review without the bad. I ordered two pairs and both had manufacturing defects. I returned them and two weeks later received two more pairs with defects. I was quite disappointed given the buildup and the price point; however, as someone who laments the loss of American-made products and wants to bring manufacturing back, I gave them a third chance (I might have just asked for my money back if it wasn't for the "story" and seeing Pete's and Jocko's work/promotion of the company.). This was early in the process (Jun/Jul 2019), so I attribute this to examples of "tuition payments" per Pete and most likely have been addressed with continued production/increase in manufacturing proficiency.

I brag about these fully American-made jeans all the time to whomever may listen. It feels like wearing American Pride every time and makes me feel good supporting Americans. Once you wear these, your other jeans just don't compare.

    Sizing

Posted by Bradley Palmer on Oct 3rd 2019

Jeans look really good, you can tell that Origin put a lot of effort into them. But the sizing the first time i got them were too long and too wide felt like (32/32) put it through the wash shrunk a little bit but not perfect i ordered a 30/30 I haven't measured but it feels like its a T 31/ W 31 i also am unsure if it has a washing/sizing label if it does i cant find it the only 2 labels it has are the origin Maine label on the inside pocket (super nice BTW) and a label that just says 30 not 30/30 just 30. despite that i would still recommend them, if you have large thighs and large hips these jeans would be fantastic.
